Evergreen is a small mountain community of about 40,000 nestled in the front range of the Rocky Mountains about 25 miles west of Denver. The terrain and scenery is breathtaking with a combination of mountains, rock outcrops, and meadows. The vegetation provides a year around background of green with ponderosa and lodge pole pine. Late summer and fall bring the tans of native grasses and the gold of turning aspen leaves. Winter brings the white of snow weighing the limbs of pine trees.
Climate
The elevation of about 7200 feet allows for the temperate relief of hot summer days. A 90 degree day in Denver will be a comfortable 80 degrees in Evergreen. The 300 days of sun brings relief from the chill of winter and makes the fall a favorite season for the outdoor enthusiast. Local Services
An array of local retail and service businesses are located along Hwy 74 ( Evergreen Parkway) to the town of Evergreen and Hwy 73 to the town of Conifer. Banks, super markets, restaurants, gas stations, auto repair, coffee shops, galleries, furniture stores, clothing stores, mail/shipping outlets, B&B's, and specialty shops are numerous. National home repair and household retail outlets also serve the area. There is really no need to visit Denver other than for the change of venue and large shopping malls.
